Nature of Business

Maria Shipping Services was established in 1997. Our main business activities are connected to shipping and shipping related activities. The main activities of the company are removal of sludge oil, waste cooking oil, garbage, chemical garbage (liquid and powder, old mooring, ropes, paper, emputy bottles, plastic, oily rags, wooden pallets) tank cleaning/chemical tank cleaning, scavenger cleaning, chipping, painting, onboard damage container cleaning (accident service) supplying of labour to vessels calling at the forts of Colombo, Galle, Trincomalee and Hambantota.

Resources

• Sludge removal barge (100 CBM Capacity / Indian register of shipping class / P & I Cover) Operating at the port of Colombo. Approved by Director of Sri Lanka Merchant Shipping, port authority harbour master & Marine Environment Protection Authority.
• Road Tankers (More than 100 CBM) - For removing sludge oil at the ports of Sri Lanka
• Gully Bowser with heavy vacuumed suction system - For removal of Chemical liquid, base oil
• Garbage trucks for removal of dry, wet garbage will be positioned at the Colombo & Galle port
• We process a 3 acre land for disposing / storing waste. This land is equipped with four storage tanks for storing liquid chemical or sludge oil. The storage site and chemical tanks are approved by the Central Environmnet Authority and Marine Environment Protection Authority Sri Lanka.
• An active labour force consisting of more than 50 labourers with safety equipment.
• Mobile crane facilities (25 MT to 50 MT) available on request
• Forklift available (5 MT to 50 MT)
• 24 hours service at short notice
• Pumping rate - 03-04 INCH Hose / 10Bar, 20MT, 10MT Per hour depending on the vessels pumping rate

Service Experience We have a record of 17 year experience in this industry. As a Sludge oil and garbage removal contractor in ports of Sri Lanka local shipping agents, shipping line and shipping agents.

All removal operations will be doing under Sri lanka ports Authority, Sri Lanka customs, Sri Lanka Marine Environment Protection Authority ( Mepa) Sri Lanka Central Environment Authority (CEA) procedures.
A valid marpol certificate will be issued after successful removal.

We have handled exclusively the first cairn oil drilling projects in Sri Lanka during the year 2011/ 2012
